Herringbone Flooring FAQ's

Yes, with the herringbone style flooring you will find that you get more wastage when fitting, this is due to having to cut many planks as you cut them to fit up alongside the walls of a room, these pieces most of the time can't be re-used and will go to waste. We recommend around 15% extra from your total square meters for wastage. For example, if you needed 20m2 of flooring for your room, it would be best to order 23m2 of herringbone flooring.

Herringbone style floors will be more complicated and time-consuming than traditional straight planks to install, there will be many more cuts and measurements to be taken during the installation to ensure a correctly fitted herringbone style floor. Most of our herringbone floors will come with a fitting guide inside the boxes. If you are a competant DIY'er we strongly recommend you read this carefully and fully understand the guide before attempting as any fitting issues may void your flooring warranty.
