World Cup “50% Back if England or Scotland Win” — Terms & Conditions
These terms govern Floor Depot’s “50% Back if England or Scotland Win the World Cup” promotion (the “Promotion”). By ticking the opt-in box at checkout you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms. If you do not opt in, your order is not part of the Promotion and nothing below applies to it.
1. The promoter
The Promotion is run by Floor Depot. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Floor Depot. Our decision on all matters relating to the Promotion is final.
2. How to take part
You take part by ticking the “England or Scotland win the World Cup? Get 50% back!” box on the checkout page before you complete payment, and then placing and paying for your order. Opting in is free and does not change the price you pay. There is nothing further you need to do.
The opt-in must be made at the time of ordering. We cannot add an existing order to the Promotion after it has been placed, and we cannot apply the Promotion retrospectively.
3. The qualifying event
The Promotion pays out only if either the England men’s national football team or the Scotland men’s national football team wins the relevant FIFA World Cup tournament — that is, wins the tournament final and lifts the trophy.
For the avoidance of doubt, the following do not trigger a payout: reaching the final but not winning it; reaching the semi-finals, quarter-finals or any earlier stage; winning a group, play-off or qualifying match; a shared or jointly-awarded title; or the tournament being cancelled, abandoned, postponed to a different year, or not completed for any reason. Only an outright tournament win by England or Scotland qualifies.
4. What you get back
If the qualifying event happens, opted-in customers receive a refund of 50% of the goods value of their qualifying order.
“Goods value” means the price of the products on your order, including VAT, after any discounts or promotional codes have been applied, and excluding delivery charges, delivery surcharges, specific-date delivery fees, fitting costs and any other service charges. Worked example: an order with £1,000 of flooring (after discount, inc VAT) plus £50 delivery would receive £500 back (50% of the £1,000 goods value); the £50 delivery is not included.
The 50% figure is calculated from the value of the order as it stands at the point the qualifying event is determined. If any part of the order has been refunded, returned or cancelled before then, the refunded, returned or cancelled amount is excluded from the calculation (see section 6).
5. When and how you are paid
If the qualifying event happens, we will pay eligible customers within 30 days of the tournament final. Payment will be made by refund to the original payment method used for the order wherever possible; if that is not possible we will contact you to arrange an alternative.
You do not need to claim — we identify eligible orders from our records of who opted in. Please make sure the contact and payment details on your order are correct, as we cannot be responsible for a payout we are unable to make because of out-of-date details.
6. Cancellations, returns and refunds
The Promotion only ever applies to amounts you have actually paid and kept. If your order, or part of it, is cancelled, returned or refunded at any time before the qualifying event is determined, the cancelled, returned or refunded amount no longer forms part of your goods value and is not eligible for the 50% payout.
If your entire order is cancelled, returned or fully refunded, the order is no longer part of the Promotion and no payout is due on it. Standard cancellation and return rights under our Returns & Cancellation Policy are unaffected by the Promotion, and taking part in the Promotion does not give you any additional return rights.
A Promotion payout is itself a goodwill refund of part of your order value; it is not a discount, voucher or credit, has no cash-alternative beyond the refund described above, and cannot be transferred or sold.
7. Eligibility
The Promotion is open to customers who place and fully pay for a qualifying order while the Promotion is running and who validly opt in at checkout. Orders that are unpaid, part-paid, fraudulent, placed in error, or found to be in breach of our general terms are not eligible. We reserve the right to withhold a payout where we reasonably believe the Promotion is being abused.
8. Promotion period and changes
The Promotion applies to qualifying orders placed during the Promotion period and opted in at checkout. We may withdraw the Promotion, or stop accepting new opt-ins, at any time; doing so does not affect the eligibility of orders already validly opted in before that point. We may amend these terms where reasonably necessary (for example to correct an error or to reflect a change in the tournament), and the version in force at the time you opted in is the version that applies to your order.
9. General
This Promotion is run by Floor Depot and is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, FIFA, the Football Association, the Scottish Football Association, any bookmaker or any other third party. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
