Acclimatisation

Allow your flooring to acclimatise in the room where it will be installed for at least 48 hours before fitting. Keep packs sealed and lay them flat.

Laid in the living room

Took a weekend to do the whole living room and the result looks great. The Solero Oak is a lovely neutral shade that works with pretty much any decor. Being 8mm it's a budget-tier product so I wouldn't say it feels luxurious underfoot, but it looks smart and it was good value.

So I'd never laid laminate before and managed this without too much hassle. The planks clicked together well and the finish is really attractive. Wish there were a couple more shade options in this range but that's a minor thing.

Delivery was quick and well packaged. The flooring itself is pretty straightforward to fit — I'd say it took me about a day to do the dining room. Looks tidy and the oak colouring suits the space. Only small gripe is the click system needed a bit of patience to get the hang of, but nothing major.

Good laminate for a low-traffic room

Put this in the spare room and it looks great. It's 8mm which is on the thinner side so I wouldn't use it somewhere that gets hammered daily, but for a bedroom it's more than adequate. Easy to cut and lay, and the finish is genuinely nice.

Great value for a rental property
