Was worried it might look cheap given the cost, but the rustic finish actually gives it a lot of character. Fitted the landing and the top of the stairs area over a weekend. Took longer than expected around the awkward door frames but the end result is stunning. Would recommend to anyone doing a budget refresh.

So pleased with how this turned out. We ripped up a tired beige carpet and the difference is night and day. The dark tone makes the room feel more modern and defined. Our old carpet was embarrassing — this has completely changed the look of the whole ground floor. The rustic dark oak pattern is striking without being too dark.
