Product Information

Lifestyle Kensington 7mm Sweet Maple Oak Laminate Flooring is 7mm thick and 192.5mm wide. This range is both stylish and affordable giving you the chance to work with a number of looks without breaking the bank. This product has square edges, meaning the planks fit together tightly on the ends as opposed to bevelled edges which are curved. Square edges help to create a smooth and fluid finish that can look incredibly modern.

Lifestyle floors are incredibly easy to install thanks to the click system technology their products come with. A click system floors work by the planks fitting together in a jigsaw like manner without the need for glue to secure the floor in place. This means you can quickly and easily lay your lifestyle floor and even take the flooring with you to a different property. The Lifestyle range is huge, offering a range of colours and styles meaning that you have a plethora of choice. The biggest benefit of the Lifestyle range is the price, providing a high quality floor at the lower end of the price scale, making the stunning wood effect can be achieved by everyone no matter your budget. Plus, this product comes with the Lifestyle 10 year guarantee against manufacturing issues.

This sweet maple oak product has a wood effect finish and in comparison to other floors, this product can offer both style and ease of maintenance. With its water resistant properties, this product can withstand exposure to moisture and liquids without perishing as a solid wood floor will. Laminate floors can endure those everyday wear and tear spillages without damaging, the water resistance therefore also makes cleaning incredibly easy, the ideal floor for the modern home. However, we would always recommend cleaning or drying any liquids in a timely manner to avoid any potential long term damage to the product. This product is also suitable for use with underfloor heating as it can easily expand and contract with fluctuations in temperatures. This product also feels softer underfoot as the way in which laminate floor is made makes it more comfortable than other floors. Additionally, laminate floors are very hardwearing and prove their durability in high traffic areas with heavy footfall.

Installation

ENGINEERED FLOORS

Engineered wood flooring can be installed in two different ways: by all-over adhesion or in a “floating-floor-type” installation. An advantage of all-over adhered engineered wood floors is that they are comparatively low-noise, because vibrations and hollow sounds are largely eliminated. Thanks to the convenient CLICK system, the installation of engineered wood boards, as a “floating floor” is particularly fast and easy to do even without any previous knowledge and has become the most popular method of installation.

When an engineered floor is floated this in normally done on top of an underlay and if the subfloor is concrete then this underlay should contain a moisture barrier or a DPM (damp proof membrane).

We can also supply beading, door thresholds, pipe covers and stair nosing to match the flooring we supply. This will add the finishing touches to your floor.

SOLID WOOD FLOORS

Solid wood floors can be installed using two different methods: by all over adhesion or by secret nail installation.

If the subfloor is concrete the recommended method would be an all over adhesion installation where each individual plank would be glued to the subfloor. If an underlay with a vapour barrier is needed you could also use a self-adhesive underlay available in our accessories category.

If the subfloor is wood then you could use the secret nail installation method, which would secure the planks to the subfloor, and you can do this using an underlay if you prefer to add any protection to the product.

To add finishing touches such as beading, door thresholds, stair nosing we also offer a range of solid oak accessories in different colours and finishes to match different products to add a better visual and more professional touch.

LAMINATE

Thanks to the convenient CLICK system, the installation of laminate boards as a “floating floor” is particularly fast and easy to do even without any previous knowledge and has become the most popular method of installation.

When laminate flooring is ‘floated’ this is normally done on top of an underlay and if the subfloor is concrete then this underlay should contain a moisture barrier or a DPM (damp proof membrane) .

We can also supply beading , door thresholds , pipe covers and stair nosing to match the flooring we supply this will add the finishing touches to the floor.
